PSLS Seeking Fair Housing Testers to Help Combat Housing Discrimination

Prairie State Legal Services (PSLS) is seeking volunteer fair housing testers! We welcome all people regardless of race, color, age, ethnicity, gender or disability.

No experience is necessary, and training is available. The next virtual training is scheduled for 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 24.

Benefits of being a fair housing tester:

  • Receive compensation (a stipend) and mileage reimbursement for each assignment.

  • Learn new skills, including report writing.

  • Help make your community more inclusive and welcoming.

Basic requirements:

  • Testers MUST have a state-issued ID

  • Authorization to work in the United States

  • Access to transportation

  • Access to a computer

Testers cannot have:

  • Prior felony convictions or convictions of crimes involving fraud or perjury

  • An active real estate license
