PSLS Awarded $15,000 Grant From Community Foundation of Central Illinois

October 13, 2023

The Community Foundation of Central Illinois (CFCI) recently awarded more than $328,000 through the Community Needs, Local Jobs Fund and Women’s Fund Success grants to 30 local nonprofit organizations providing vital programs and services to the Central Illinois community.

PSLS received $15,000 through the CFCI Community Needs Grant to support our Children's Advocacy Program. Through our Children’s Advocacy Program, PSLS represents abused, neglected and disabled children who are being denied educational services, public benefits or other basic human needs. Children receive legal assistance in education and Social Security Disability cases to ensure the opportunity to succeed in school and to meet their basic needs.

For more than 36 years, the Community Foundation of Central Illinois has remained committed to the mission of connecting people who care with causes that matter. The Community Needs Grants support community development, capacity building, and educational programs and allow nonprofit agencies to apply for up to $15,000 in funding. The Local Jobs Fund Grant supports projects that have a direct linkage to breaking the cycle of poverty by equipping people with the skills to earn significantly more than minimum wage and allows nonprofit agencies to apply for $3,000 in funding. The Women’s Fund Success Grants support organizations whose programs help empower women and girls and allow nonprofit agencies to apply for up to $5,000 in funding.

PSLS and the other nonprofit organizations will be presented with their grant award checks at upcoming site visits throughout the month of October and November. For a complete list of award amounts and grant programs, visit communityfoundationci.org.
