Path to a Fresh Start Offered to Rock Island County Residents on July 15

April 24, 2026

Rock Island County residents have the opportunity to begin their journey to a fresh start at a free criminal records relief clinic! The clinic is on Wednesday, July 15 from 1:30 - 4 p.m. at the Rock Island Public Library’s Downtown Branch, 401 19th Street, Rock Island.

Oftentimes a fresh start can happen through the expungement and sealing of criminal records, because the record can be a barrier to employment and other opportunities. When the expungement or sealing process is successful, a client’s door to opportunity is open wider, giving them a chance to better provide for themselves and their families and contribute to the community.

At the July 15 clinic, registered community members will receive free legal assistance to seal or expunge their eligible criminal records. Volunteer attorneys will consult with clients on their available options, prepare the documents to request an expungement or sealing of eligible records, and provide guidance on the process. Clients must meet financial eligibility requirements. Registration is required. Interested community members can follow this link to register. The registration link is also available under the July 15 event on pslegal.org/events.
