Helping a Student Get Set for Academic Success
April 28, 2026
Meet Teddi, a middle schooler with developmental and behavioral disorders. Teddi had an accommodation plan at school, but was struggling academically. Teddi's mom knew Teddi was struggling academically due to her ADHD diagnosis, but the school would not listen. Teddi’s mom requested an Individualized Education Program (IEP) evaluation for Teddi, but the school refused. That’s when she reached out to PSLS for help. PSLS staff listened to fully understand Teddi’s situation and began advocating for Teddi’s right to a public education that appropriately meets her needs. PSLS was a voice for Teddi, facilitating meetings with the school and ultimately proving the need for an IEP evaluation. Today, thanks to PSLS’ high-quality legal services, Teddi has an IEP at school and is receiving special education services!
