Direct Service staff working with people who are homeless and people who were formerly homeless will learn how to report income and expenses to maximize their IDHS Benefits. Income can sometimes be confusing to report and some of the IDHS forms sent are difficult to fill out. We will discuss:

• What is Unearned vs Earned income

• What is gross income

• Income that changes

• Verification of income

• Multiple jobs

• Self-employment (Lyft, Uber, DoorDash)

  • Business Expenses

• IDHS Budgeting tools (e.g. SNAP calculator)

This will be an overview. Beginners welcome!
