Helping Felix with Housing

Meet Felix, a public housing resident in his 60s. Felix lost his job during the pandemic when he became too sick to work. Felix reported his change in income to the leasing office, but the office took longer than expected to adjust the rent. Eventually, Felix fell behind on rent and received an eviction notice. That is when Felix reached out to PSLS for help. PSLS staff answered Felix’s call and was a voice for Felix, negotiating the amount owed and a move-out agreement with his landlord. PSLS also helped Felix secure $1,000 from the Miller Foundation to pay his rent balance. Thanks to the hard work of PSLS staff, Felix avoided eviction and remains eligible to apply for public housing!
