A Home for Paula

Meet Paula, who lives in a Section 8 housing apartment. Paula’s landlord recently served her an eviction notice, alleging rule violations. That is when Paula turned to PSLS for help avoiding eviction and losing her Section 8 Voucher. PSLS staff advised Paula about her rights and responsibilities as a tenant. Thanks to PSLS staff, Paula was able to advocate for herself to the housing authority and landlord to reach a compromise. Today, Paula still has a Section 8 Voucher and has time to search for a new home.

Thanks to funding from the Winnebago County Community Mental Health Board (WCCMHB), PSLS was able to provide high-quality legal services to Paula. WCCMHB’s funding is made possible through a half-cent sales tax in Winnebago County.
