2025 Pro Bono Celebrations
Throughout the past couple of weeks, PSLS has joined in pro bono celebrations throughout our service area.
On Wednesday, Oct. 15, Senior Pro Bono Coordinator Wendy Crouch attended the 23rd Judicial Circuit Reception hosted by PILI, the DeKalb and Kendall County Bar Associations, and the Twenty-Third Judicial Circuit in commemorating Pro Bono Week and recognizing the commitment of local pro bono volunteers.

On Thursday, Oct. 16, the Managing Attorney of PSLS’ Bloomington Office, Adrian Barr, along with Stacy James, the Pro Bono Coordinator for the Bloomington Office, presented our 2025 Distinguished Pro Bono Advocate award to Tom McClure at an event in Bloomington co-hosted by PILI and the 11th Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee. Lisa Hume, PSLS’ Major Giving Specialist, was also in attendance.

On Monday, Oct. 20, PSLS Executive Director Denise Conklin, presented the PSLS Equal Access to Justice Award to Tim Kirk of Heyl Royster at the Tenth Judicial Circuit's Celebrate Pro Bono reception. Wesley Enz, Senior Staff Attorney from the Peoria Office, also presented the PSLS Joined in Justice award to Nicole Morrow of the City of Peoria. PSLS Pro Bono Coordinator for the Peoria service area, Laurie Bell, also attended the event to help celebrate all the honorees from the PCBA, TCBA and the 10th Judicial Circuit.

On Monday, October 20, Senior Pro Bono Coordinator, Wendy Crouch, attended the Kane County Bar Association Pro Bono Awards Ceremony to honor volunteers from Kane County.

On Thursday, Oct. 23, Pro Bono Supervising Attorney, Ligia Mendez, attended the 18th Judicial Circuit reception hosted by PILI to honor a pro bono volunteer from DuPage County. Major Giving Specialist, Lisa Hume, was also in attendance.

On Thursday, Oct. 23, Pro Bono Coordinator, Lakeshia Sykes, attended the Lake County Bar Association pro bono week reception and presented the PSLS Outstanding Community Pro Bono Honoree award to our local service area Honoree, Katharine Hatch.
