Strike a Chord to Support PSLS

Strike a Chord began with attorneys in Waukegan wondering how they could bring more people together to confront the legal issues of poverty in their local communities. These creative attorneys and their friends expressed their support and passion for justice through music and anyone who “strikes this chord” can join the movement.

In the beginning, Strike a Chord was hosted in neighborhood venues like the Wooden Nickel in Highwood and O’Tooles in Libertyville. On Thursdays in May/September attorneys gathered to play music together while inviting their professional and personal networks to join the celebration with a suggested donation of $20. Once COVID hit, PSLS celebrated Strike a Chord virtually and at outdoor venues. During this time, PSLS saw an increase in donations from sponsors and friends. These individuals were pivotal in helping PSLS imagine how to grow this event beyond attorneys and their friends who support access to legal aid for all.

This year, PSLS is excited to announce the move to an indoor venue that can accommodate inviting more of Lake County. We will gather at 28 Mile Distilling Co. in Highwood!

More attendees and more awareness equates to serving more Lake County families while growing the next generation of PSLS supporters.
