Client Interviewing Training (Interns Only) (In-Person)

Details: This session is exclusively for interns based on feedback from supervisors. Interns already received a separate email with the information. We will hold a client interviewing training for staff in August.
Safety Subject Matter Meeting (In-Person)

Date: August 5, 2024

Time: 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Location: DeKalb County Community Outreach Building

Details: Agenda to be confirmed. Expect at least two CLE credits, covering topics such as vicarious trauma, immigration, and trauma-informed practice (taught by Kathy Bettcher, a former PSLS staff member)!

Juvenile Justice Meeting (In-Person)

Date: August 22, 2024

Time: 12 to 3:30 p.m.

Location: West Suburban Office, with a remote-in option

Details: Agenda pending. Anticipate earning at least one CLE credit for a special education basics presentation led by Ji Hwang. The main focus of the meeting will be to share resources and brainstorming ways to increase this practice area. Any staff interested in taking education cases are welcome to attend.

Details: Attorneys with less than two years of experience are expected to attend. Attorneys with over five years of experience, please consider volunteering as a facilitator!

Consumer Law Meeting (In-Person)

Details: Agenda pending. Expect at least two CLE credits. This meeting will include an optional book discussion and there is still time to cast your vote on the book! The exact CLE topics will be chosen to compliment the book and will be announced at a later date.
