2023 Lawyers for Justice Campaign Kicks Off

Dear Friends,

We are pleased to announce that the 2023 Lawyers for Justice Campaign is officially live!

You became an attorney or supported PSLS to help people avoid injustice and make a difference in your community. Supporting PSLS provides you the opportunity to do just that. For this reason, we would like to invite you to participate in the 2023 Lawyers for Justice Campaign.

PSLS provides all access to justice and fairness, regardless of income. We rely on you and the legal community for financial support to provide free civil legal aid throughout our 36-county service area.

The goal of our Lawyers for Justice Campaign is to secure participation from attorneys, law firms and legal departments located in our service area and to increase awareness throughout the communities we serve.

Last year, PSLS helped Karla* obtain a 2-year order of protection against her husband. Karla’s husband physically assaulted her, throwing her down the stairs in front of her children, causing significant injuries and requiring medical assistance. PSLS helped Karla obtain an order of protection against her husband to ensure her safety and the safety of her children. In addition, PSLS worked with prosecutors in the criminal trial of Karla’s husband, which led to an increase in bail to ensure he would not be released before his criminal trial.

We need your support to protect individuals who live in poverty in northern, western, and central Illinois—the elderly, children, domestic violence survivors, and our veterans—and provide equal access to justice in cases that threaten their lives and safety.
