The listing of sites on this page is intended to assist you in locating additional information and resources. IllinoisLegalAid - provides Illinois residents with educational materials about their legal rights and responsibilities and pro-se litigants with forms, instructions and support. Prairie State Legal Services is a contributing partner to the development of this site and the materials it contains. Pro-se litigants are persons who sue or defend a law suit without a lawyer.

Self Help Legal Center - Southern Illinois University School of Law. The Self Help Legal Center has 3 missions; to help those who help pro-se litigants, to help pro-se litigants find the information they need, and to act as a clearinghouse for Self-Help legal information.

American Bar Association - Consumer's Guide to Legal Help on the Internet. Resources that can help you find legal help from a lawyer or other source if you need to resolve a legal matter.

Illinois Bar Association - Legal Information Pamphlets for the Public. The ISBA publishes and distributes a series of pamphlets on legal topics.

AARP Foundation Litigation - brings law reform litigation on behalf of older persons and prepares amicus briefs primarily in the areas of age discrimination; pensions and other employee benefits; consumer fraud including predatory lending; health and long-term care; and access to justice.

Social Security Online is the official website of the social security Administration. Contains details about all programs of social security including some helpful online forms.

The National Consumer Law Center (NCLC)  is the nation’s consumer law expert, helping consumers, their advocates, and public policy makers use powerful and complex consumer laws on behalf of low-income and elderly Americans seeking economic justice.

The National Health Law Project (NHLP) is a national public interest law firm that seeks to improve health care for America's working and unemployed poor, minorities, the elderly and people with disabilities.

The National Housing Law Project (NHLP) is a national housing law and advocacy center. Its material are more directed toward advocates working in housing law rather than individuals tenants

The Legal Services Corporation (LSC) is a private, non-profit corporation established by Congress to seek to ensure equal access to justice under the law for all Americans by providing civil legal assistance to those who otherwise would be unable to afford it. LSC is a major funding source of Prairie State Legal Services.

Illinois Department on Aging Illinois Department on Aging serves and advocates for older Illinoisans and their caregivers by administering programs and promoting partnerships that encourage independence, dignity, and quality of life.

Sargent Shriver National Center on Poverty Law Its mission is to provide national leadership in identifying, developing, and supporting creative and collaborative approaches to achieve social and economic justice for low-income people. The Shriver Center's Web site is a gateway to poverty law and policy resources, offering users timely news, access to the Poverty Law Library and publications, and links to thousands of other relevant Internet sites.

AARP Legal Services Network The AARP Legal Services Network provides access to a directory of attorneys in your community searchable by area of practice and location. The attorney you choose will provide services at reduced fees. The Network also provides basic legal information that could help save you time and money.
